Our Services

Electroplating is a permanent high-quality repair for metal components, whether you are resizing, rebuilding, or restoring.

Metal is deposited from an electrolyte to localised surfaces using specially formulated solutions to provide an applied coating with excellent adhesion to the base metal due to molecular bonding between the layers.

Metal plating as thin as 5 microns or as thick as is required can be accurately deposited to the precise area where it is needed and is an exact fit every time. No emersion tanks are required. Our high-quality, European-made solutions have metal contents 10-50 times higher than those used for tank plating, resulting in rapid plating and superior bonding.

The Selective Electroplating Process meets most military and industrial standards and is recognised as a superior means of repair.

Selectro’s selective electroplating can:

N

Repair damaged metal parts to new condition

N
Repair mis-machined parts
N
Restore worn out components, including fretting, seal grooves etc
N
Improve hardness
N
Provide corrosion protection and dimensional restoration
N
Repair pits and scores on chrome rods

Electroplating serves you a wide variety of purposes. From localised defect repair and bringing inside and outside diameters back to size, to enhancing wear and corrosion resistance, electroplating is the most accurate and effective option.

Repair

Rebuilding components that are damaged with dents, gouges, grooves or were miss-machined is what electroplating specialises in.

Restore

Your metal components surface properties can be restored or improved for hardness, wear and corrosion resistance, and electrical conductivity.

Resize

We can resize your metal components to original factory dimensions after there has been corrosion or wear over time.

A Selectro repair provides:

N
Quick turnarounds (usually three days or less)
N
Cost effectiveness
N
Reduced downtime (faster than remaking or importing)
N
Improved qualities of hardness and corrosion protection
N
A permanent and high-quality build with excellent adhesion
N
No thermal distortion or changes in the grain structure
N
You can keep your good quality OEM parts in service for another full life cycle
N
Doesn’t require any post-plating machining

All our electroplating is performed by highly trained and experienced technicians.

Repairs are catered specifically to each unique situation. Our specialists will consider deposit solution, the desired features like hardness and corrosion, and other key factors to the repair to ensure the optimal outcome for your metal components. They are happy to provide guidance for determining which applications are most appropriate for you.
