The first 28 years of my working life were spent Dairy Farming in the Waikato. 22 of these years were Sharemilking, starting out with 150 cows and progressing to 600 cows.
Later on an opportunity opened up into a field I have always had an interest in at Pearson Engineering, the position of National Sales Manager based in Matamata. The role was in wholesale and involved acting as company liaison between the manufacturer and dealers. The job was hugely rewarding, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time meeting customers and travelling the country.
With my girls entering their teenage years I felt a change was needed enabling me to spend more time with them. It was at this time I made the move into retail for Norwood Farm Machinery as a Sales Representative. After an enjoyable two years of building solid client relationships, I felt it was time to be working for myself again. So along with a local builder, I have spent the last 4 years involved in new builds and property development. This is something I enjoy doing and I am still involved with.
Building and especially engineering has always been a real passion. It is the passion of engineering that has drawn me back into this industry. Between farming, wholesale, retail and as a customer, I have had the opportunity to operate and maintain a very wide range of machinery. Over many years I have built every piece of machinery that I could, not only to save money but to customise and make improvements wherever possible. So having completed comprehensive training in the selective electroplating industry, I now combine my training with my knowledge of mechanics and engineering to offer clients a premium selective electroplating service along with my brother, Frank. In the past two years we have worked on everything from 15mm steering shafts to Navy ships and everything in between. The experience has been extremely rewarding.
On a personal level, I have been married to Tracey for over 30 years and we have 2 girls aged 17 & 15. I have an interest in classic cars and motor racing and spent 30 years riding dirt bikes, more recently moving into road bikes.

After spending much of my life being employed on wages and working early shifts, I am excited be in partnership with my brother as we build the business together. I have been involved with industrial maintenance mainly in food processing plants for 25 years and dual trade certificates in both engineering maintenance and as an electrician.
We were looking to develop a new business and could see the benefits that a professional mobile selective plating service would offer clients. Having access to various regions of the North Island and undertaking formal in-depth training in the process we became certified technicians.
Building a successful business takes time and effort but we love it and get real satisfaction from it.
There are so many uses for our service and I am enthusiastic about telling everyone how we can help them.
Outside of work my wife and I enjoy leisure travel throughout the many beautiful regions of New Zealand and of recent times we have discovered the delights of taking a cruise. We love watching speedway and attending music concerts, but we equally enjoy just relaxing at home in the backyard.
